PROGRAMS 2017-03-24T14:05:49+00:00

Toddler physical and mental development is so vital to a child’s success. Our tiny tiger classes are designed to develop a love for learning. Tigers are given the space to grow their physical skills through trial and guidance. Your child will first learn to follow simple instructions. Over time you’ll notice we can impart more complicated instructions with great success. How do you think this will affect your child’s ability to be successful in life?

School aged children benefit from training in the martial arts for a number of reasons. Paramount is the ability to work independently in addition to working with others. Interacting with other children in an atmosphere of cooperation and respect enhances their social skills, and transfers across the different educational forums. Children who train in the martial arts are less likely to suffer from bullying, more likely to take an interest in self-improvement, and exhibit more personal confidence than those who have not experienced martial art training.

It’s the digital age and our children are commonly distracted and disengaged socially. Training in the martial arts gives pre-teens an outlet for reengagement in a great social circle while studying and practicing useful, mindful physical activities. Setting the stage for their future challenges as teens, these young people work together in a physical atmosphere. When males and females train together a number of things take place.  There is a uniform, which creates a sameness in the mind.  During class constant focus on the self, practicing improvement time and again begins to change thought patterns. The support and help from classmates brings awareness toward the value each person contributes on the journey. To engage physically in martial art study creates respect for self, others’ physical bodies, feelings, and boundaries!  Teen years can be such a confusing challenge and we believe respect and boundaries are paramount to a teen’s path into adulthood.

Absolutely not. Children learn a lot about what it means to be respectful and polite here. As a result, kids who weren’t violent in the first place become even more respectful and kind. Kids with behavior problems often become very respectful a calm.
Our program is extremely safe. We have measures upon measures in place to insure that your child will stay safe, and have a great time. From stretching to warm ups to very close supervision – we’ve got your child covered. Injuries do happen sometimes – but they’re quite rare.
Yes! In fact, martial arts is kind of a beacon of light for kids who just don’t fit into team sports. Kids who never could throw a ball well or run fast find that martial arts is accessible to them. It’s something they excel at, and as a result, their confidence soars.

We have classes for kids as young as 3, and as old as teenagers. Martial arts is the kind of thing that grows with you. So as kids get older, they learn new techniques, perfect old ones, and advance. When they’re younger, it’s more about fun and games, with learning thrown in too.

Yes! We have a good mix of both girls and boys in our kids martial arts classes! Some people think that the boys are much “stronger and tougher,” but in reality this is not true. In fact, often girls are the stronger ones!

The indomitable spirit of the committed martial artist pays huge dividends. Strengthen your focus and perseverance for a huge competitive advantage. The mental balance of the martial arts mindset helps parents be better equipped to deal with the challenges and stress that come with raising even the best of children. As a parent . . . Modeling respect, self-discipline, and thoughtful understanding helps children develop these attributes.

Any sport or form of exercise comes with a risk of injury. However, there are a few things that make our program very safe. It’s because of these few things that we barely see any injuries with our program.

  • Stretching: At the beginning of every class we go through a series of stretches. These stretches get your muscles and joints ready and warmed up for exercise.
  • Supervision: Every class is supervised by trained, licensed professionals. We watch carefully to make sure no student is doing anything in a dangerous or unsafe way.

In short, we place a tremendous amount of focus on fun and safety. It’s because of this that we feel confident telling you that while there is risk for injury with our program – it’s a very small risk.

People come to us of all fitness levels. We get natural-born athletes, and we get people who have a harder time with athletic endeavors. However, everyone gets the same focus and attention.

If you’re not in great shape, don’t worry. Go at your own pace, and we’ll do everything we can to help you learn each and every technique. Soon enough, your physical fitness will improve, and you’ll be in better shape than ever!

No! Because self-defense technique is taught in martial arts, it’s often thought of as violent. However, the philosophies behind martial arts revolve around peace and harmony. The moves are more of a way to become connected with your body. We teach diplomacy and friendship. However, if a violent situation ever arises in your life, you’ll have powerful tools to defend yourself and your loved ones.
